1st day:

Arrival at Caracas International Airport, where our guide will take you to the 4 star Hotel Best Western Puerto Viejo, or a similar hotel, with private transportation. Dinner and stay will be enjoyed there.

2nd day:

Early in the morning, our assistant will accompany you to the national terminal for the flight Caracas-Puerto Ordaz. At arrival you´ll be met by our guide. We’ll leave in a 4 x 4 Jeep to La Gran Sabana. During the ride we’ll briefly visit the best known parks of the city, Cachamay and La Llovizna (closed on Mondays), we’ll have a lunch break at a typical local restaurant and go on to the goldmine area, visiting the famous village of El Callao. After passing El Dorado, where the prison out of the book “Papillon” is, we’ll go up to the highest part of La Gran Sabana, checking out the mysterious stone of the Virgin and the monument of the soldier Pioniero. At dinner time we’ll arrive at the camp where you’ll be assigned your rooms without private bathroom, where we’ll stay and enjoy dinner.

3rd day:

The following morning, after breakfast, we’ll take our Jeep along a natural road that takes us to the Indian community of Iworiwo. From there we’ll leave at the small Indian pier in a “curiara” (a typical Indian vessel made out of a single tree trunk) to ride on the Aponwao river and start the walk up to the base of the spectacular waterfall Cinak Meru. When we get back we’ll have lunch in a small restaurant and continue to Santa Elena de Uairén, border city between Venezuela and Brazil. During the trip we’ll see the Kama Meru. Once we arrive at the hotel, we’ll set up in rooms with private bathrooms. Afterwards we’ll have dinner.

4th day:

After breakfast we’ll cover a part of the route of La Gran Sabana, during which, depending the weather, we´ll make some interesting stops. The Jaspe Stream, where the bottom of the river is formed by semi precious stones; the Pacheco Stream, where we can relax and enjoy a natural hydro massage in the river and where we will see some Indian communities and have the change to buy some of the typical handicraft of the Pemon tribe. If there’s enough time left and everybody has a yellow fever certificate, we could agree with the guide to visit the frontier with Brazil. Lunch will be served during the excursion. Back at the hotel we’ll have dinner.

5th day:

Transfer in the morning to the small airport of Santa Elena de Uairén, where we’ll take an air taxi in which we’ll fly to Ciudad Bolivar. Depending on the weather and some additional money for the pilot, we could fly over Angel Falls, the highest waterfall in the world. At arrival we’ll find our guide, who will take us to on a 3 to 4 hour trip to a ranch near the Orinoco Delta. We’ll have lunch during the trip and we’ll take a “chalana” (a typical boat from the mystic Orinoco) to cross the majestic Orinoco River, at its widest part. In the evening we’ll arrive at the ranch where the rooms will be assigned, all with private bathroom, and dinner will be served.

6th day:

After breakfast we’re going on a 50 minute drive to a small pier where we board a boat that will take us through the canal of the Delta. Here we’ll fish for piranhas and visit the Warao Indians that live on the banks of the river, in their typical houses. Observing the vegetation carefully we might see some of the animals that live in the area like monkeys, birds, toucans and chigüiris. For the most dynamic people we can organize a walking tour through the jungle, to show the variety of unique and peculiar plants. Afterwards there will be a navigation test in a typical Indian vessel. After an optional horse ride on the ranch, a Creole dinner will be waiting for us.

7th day:

In the morning we can take some pictures of the great variety of animals that live on the ranch and have a nice swim in the pools, before we’re accompanied to the airport of Maturin, about an hour away, for a direct flight to Caracas. From there we’ll go on a flight to Los Roques, where our assistant will be waiting to take us to the Va Pensiero Posada, or a similar posada (superior category) where we’ll have dinner and spend the night.

8th, 9th and 10th day:

Full pension treatment with breakfast, lunch (box-lunch), dinner and an excursion to one of the nearby islands (Francisqui and Madrisqui) every day. Shades and chairs are included. There is a possibility to go on additional excursions to other islands, making a reservation directly with our assistant.

11 th day:

After breakfast our assistant will accompany you to the small airport of Los Roques, where we’ll take a flight to Caracas for your connecting international flight.
